Followed directions exactly and wound up with a tray full of water and a soaking floor. I may as well use a wet mop. Will try it one more time and see if it was just a fluke....if not it's going back and I'll get another Shark

After reading many reviews, I was convinced this was the product for me. It gets hot enough to actually kill germs, as the others (including the shark) don't. I love the fact that it comes with extra cleaning pads....just don't put them in the dryer so they wont shrink. And the chemical free approach to cleaning is much safer for my kids.
This is a great alternative to the old mop and bucket way.

I did a lot of research and reading of reviews before I decided to purchase the Eureka Envirosteamer. According to every review I read, it is the best of the steam mops. I set out on a quest to find one locally, but had no luck in my city or several surrounding cities. This is the only flaw I have found; you cannot find this machine in any store and have to order it online.
When it arrived I was excited, but apprehensive that it wouldn't live up to my expectations. There was no need to worry, it met and exceeded every expectation I had. It heats up fast, even faster than the 3 minutes it states in the directions, it is lightweight and moves very easily over the floor, there is little elbow grease required, it cleans simply by gliding lightly over the floor. It is so easy to use that I have been using it every day, rotating what room I use it in.
I did read a review from someone who said kitchen towels work better than the pads that come with it and they were right, a plain kitchen towel does a superior cleaning job to the pads provided. I think this is because the pads they send you are very thick and the steam has a hard time getting through them.
I would recommend this machine to anyone; you won't be disappointed.

I read "ArtistAlana" reviews of popular steam mops and decided to try the Eureka based on her recommendation. Overall I am really pleased. It was a breeze to assemble and the directions were easy to understand. I have four types of flooring in my house: vinyl, tile, laminate, hardwood. It worked beautifully on all four. It heats up quickly and lasts for about 15 minutes before needing a refill. You may need any extension cord for larger areas. My floors were very clean, not too wet, and they dried very quickly.
For those with older homes/electrical systems, it is a 3 prong plug, so keep that in mind. Our den has laminate floors and does not have any three prong outlets so we needed a long extension cord to reach a room that had a three prong outlet. Also we have hardwood floors upstairs and needed to run an extension cord from our bathroom to get to the bedrooms.

I was unhappy with this product. It was bulky, leaked water, always left the floors soaked, and didn't maneuver well around anything. Also cut hands twice on the handle the very first use. Sent it back and got one that is light and maneuvers well around table legs, toilets.
